Holly Sarre [pronounced Sah-RAY] is a native of New Orleans, who paints all the humor and absurdity that's available in one of the most unusual cities in the world. Working on the streets of New Orleans on Jackson Square in the French Quarter, Sarre is a wry observer of quirky local characters and the sometimes bizarre guests of the Big Easy. Long a fan of Mardi Gras and its rites and rituals, she has acquired local celebrity for her Royal Mardi Gras Thrones (Hand-Painted Toilet Seats). A former music, lecture and television industry professional in New York City, Sarre returned to New Orleans where she got her start in the art business as a painter of Mardi Gras floats, props, and invitations for many of the huge annual Carnival Balls.
