What is a Giclee?

In general terms, giclee is a French term meaning that something is being squirted on.

A GiclĂ©e is a high-end digital fine art reproduction utilizing the IRIS print process. The IRIS printer is capable of producing images using precisely controlled dots of ink many times smaller than the human hair.

Four colors of pigmented long lasting inks, (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) are squirted onto the canvas or paper at a rate of one million droplets of ink per second.
